Electronic Marketplaces of Knowledge: Characteristics and Sharing of Knowledge Assets

Organizational knowledge is a sustainable competitive advantage. Recently, several methods for sharing and dissemination this knowledge have emerged, among them is the idea of trading knowledge in marketplaces. Currently e-marketplaces for knowledge goods proliferate. In this study, we investigate the characteristics that allow the trading of knowledge to model as a tradeable good. As not all types of knowledge can be traded, different types of tradeable knowledge call for different exchange frameworks. We discuss two types of such frameworks with respect to the knowledge assets, the pricing system and the quality evaluation method.
